it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These items, such as the alphabet learning toys and Lakeshore Squeeze and Scoop, are vital to promote children who receive occupational therapy to improve their pencil grip and handwriting skills. Many of my children experience difficulty with using a three-finger grip, which is a functional grip on the pencil. These children often experience difficulty with forming handwriting that is legible, leading to frustration when completing written work. These tools will help children improve their pencils grip increasing their confidence. This is my first year as an occupational therapist in the NYC public school. I became an occupational therapist because I value the importance of providing excellent education to the student who I serve. I became an occupational therapist because I received OT for my own learning and neurodivergence as a child and have made it my life purpose to provide treatment to promote the best outcome for my students.
