Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach science at a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free lunches. Many of my students come from low-income homes and many struggle both academically and personally.
I teach 135 students per day, and very few of these students have had an in-depth science education.
They are eager to learn, and 85 percent of their day is reading, writing, and math. Project-based learning is what keeps them motivated and wanting to learn more. These middle school students can do amazing things! These supplies will allow students to build, create and remain engaged in learning.
My Project
My students are creative and curious. We are interested in doing many different experiments in the classroom. However, we need glue guns, tape, and glue sticks to create dioramas and other STEM projects. We also need jewelers loupes to examine rocks and minerals.
By donating to our project you will allow us to examine rocks and minerals with greater clarity!
We will develop balloon propelled cars and discover what bridge design supports the most weight.
I want my students to experience a science class where they really feel like young scientists. I want them to explore, create and experiment. However, I need your help to bring glue guns, glue sticks, tape and jewelers loupes into our classroom. These items will allow us to finish off the school year completing STEM labs and start next year with others!
