Let's Hear it for the Moms/Guardians!

Help me give my students a day to celebrate their moms by having a tea party where they get to read stories that they wrote.

My Project

I want to provide my students with a parental involvement activity in which we celebrate our moms/guardians on Mother's Day by having a tea party. I know that many students are being raised by grandparents or extended family so I definitely want to be sensitive to this celebration day. All are invited to join in.

Parental involvement is crucial in the school system to students having success within the school.

I want my students to be able to share multiple writings that they have written this year in our classroom. My first graders are very excited to share these with their parents/guardians. We will sing songs for our guests and I will read a story to them during the tea party. I plan to use the materials in this project, tea cups, table cloths, picture frames, and wooden table signs, to decorate the classroom and provide each parent/guardian with a tea cup to drink from.

I appreciate your generosity on this project and look forward to celebrating a great day with my first graders and parents/guardians in our small school.
