My Project
I am trying to create a maker space area within my classroom that is both inviting and cozy. I want to provide my students with a safe space that promotes creativity and taking chances. I want to use the art cart to house all of the supplies available to my first grade students. I want to place the carpet on the floor and a lower table that allows my students to sit and work. I want to allow my students to become inventors and use the materials to follow the scientific method of trial and error.
Art has been taken out of our school and I want to bring it into my classroom in a whole new way that allows my first graders to become inventors and use their creativity.
The felt will be used to make coasters for our parents. The pin clips will be used to make our broaches for our mother's at our Mother's Day Tea. The shrinky dinks will be used to create a note or momento for our parents with the pom poms to decorate the keychain. The magnets will be used to create a clip that will go on the refrigerator at home to hold proud school work. All of the remaining items will be placed in our art cart for students to use if needed.
