Help me give my students an Elmo document camera for the opportunity to evaluate each others work on a broader level and be able to print out the corrections with the inkjet printer.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a very low income neighborhood in Long Island. They are a great, loving bunch of kids. Most of them are either immigrants or children of immigrants. They have either just moved here or only speak their native language at home. Most of them find learning very difficult due to their language barrier.
Most of them do not get support at home with their homework due to their parents lack of education or language barrier.
My students LOVE using technology. We have been blessed with Chromebooks and a Smart TV. They find learning so much easier when they use technology programs out there for bilingual students.
My Project
The Elmo document camera will help students during our math class when students do work in their workbooks and I select certain students to come up to display and explain their work. All the rest of the students will be able to critique the students work with what was wrong and how you can fix it or compliment what was done correctly.
The printer will then help with the corrections I made on the board to give each student.
It will also help with printing out differentiation for every student. My bilingual students will greatly benefit and love this technology.
