This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a vibrant set of students who have a passion for learning. There are so many characters in my classroom; I'm always excited to see where our days of learning take us.
No matter the time or place, I can always count on my students' love of art, reading, and science.
Our school is in the heart of Boyle Heights, just down the street from downtown Los Angeles. Many of our families struggle to provide their students with opportunities and resources that are necessary for them to become collaborators, communicators, and critical and creative thinkers. In our classroom, we try to bridge this gap and give them all the tools necessary for them to be the 21st-century thinkers that we need today and for years to come.
My Project
My students spend a good chunk of their day sitting, in the classroom, on the lunch benches, and at home. Being able to sit in different areas comes as a nice change from a regular school chair.
I would like to give my students some flexible seating options in our classroom to help them focus!
I know all my students will benefit from having some flexible seating options in our classroom, especially my students who need a little extra help focusing. Wobble seats and balance balls in our classroom will help my students become more engaged in our learning and help them become independent learners!
