My Students

The students of my kindergarten class are kind, loving, and eager to learn. My classroom is geared towards hands-on learning where students are always engaging in manipulatives and building positive relationships with one another. Their energetic attitudes and love for learning keeps me motivated as a teacher to give them the best education possible.

Kinder students at our school support one another and are always striving to do their best, each and every day.

I hope through DonorsChoose.org we can bridge the Title I gap that our students face. I hope to help my students make positive changes in our world through giving them a great kindergarten education.

My Project

Kindergarten needs to learn how to illustrate pictures, sound out words, and form words into sentences to prepare them for the various writing styles that they will see in kindergarten and moving forward in their school career. To prepare my students for their future our classroom needs to have materials to help guide and build their writing skills.

Writers Workshop is a time of our day when we can incorporate read alouds to help model writing styles and parts of writing.

These picture books will be used with my writing curriculum to help foster stepping stones to build independent illustrators and authors. By showing what published authors and illustrators have done to write their genre of story, it will help build confidence and models for my students to build their illustration and writing skills.
