My Project
Robots can be used in the classroom to teach coding, electronics, computer science, and more. They can also help students develop social skills and become more creative and self-sufficient learners.
I will use the Legos as a building block from Kindergarten though grades 5 on how to begin coding.
These kits will also help with my Autistic population as this will be teach them how interact with their peers while making eye contact. This will also teach social cues such as greetings and taking turns. This is a fun and less intimidating for children with ASD.
Teaching math and science can be a challenge, however, I've seen how excited the students become when I mention robots. I have used borrowed robots in the past, and all the students participate. There are very little disruptions on Robot Day. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a hands on and exciting project to complete.
Lego Robotics can be used to design a variety of projects for problem solving challenges. Students love these challenges. My students are from low income areas and they need all of the support I can provide them. This is a fun way to give my student who may not like math or science, a new perspective on learning.
Please donate to this project, you will be giving my students a fun and engaging way to learn STEM.
