This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are a very diverse group with a diverse set of needs. They each have a unique personality and ability level. I plan lessons to meet all of their needs, goals, and interests so that means a lot of varying materials. I need a printer and ink to use at my desk to help prepare for my lessons and my students' individual needs.
There are so many differentiated activities available online that need to be printed out.
I want to have the ability to print them out during my preparation periods and be ready to present the lesson later. I print our special books that we laminate. We read those books and connect it to our speech goals. For example, a book that has a lot of colors will be a lesson about using adjectives. We have students who respond well to coloring sheets as a reward for doing their activity to increase a skill, for example, labeling items of clothing.
Often, something I thought would work does not and I have to be ready to switch activities at a moment's notice. I want to be able to get everything ready in my time frame and not just waiting in the print queue for the whole school.
