My Project
Let's go sensory seeking! My students all have different variety of needs, some more complex than others. Majority of my students come from low-income families. They do not get the tools they have at school, at home. Even though my students all have different backgrounds and different needs, almost every one of my students have some form of emotional dysregulation. With that there are needs, for some of my students that looks like sensory tools. When my students are dysregulated and they need to get back to baseline, sensory tools help! The sensory tools can be a simple figit, laying in a bean bag, watching the lights, physically touching the sensory wall, laying down watching a light up toy and much more. My goal for this project is to create a calming corner where students can come and take a break when they are dysregulated. Then use the tools to help them return to their classroom where they can be successful learners.
