This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What is better than having class outside during the Spring? Nothing! Let’s Go Fly a Kite! will allow my 7th graders to observe and participate in a kite building project from the beginning to its end.

The students will help plan the activity, discuss the pros and cons of different approaches to kite construction, select the best materials for their construction, and set forth in creating their own kites given parameters.

Students will learn about planning, working within set conditions, and tweaking plans for successful outcomes. We will then take them to Hubbard Field to fly our creations!
