Let's Give Them Something To Talk About: Access to Communication
Help me give my students access to communication through use of an Amazon Fire Tablet.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Liz's classroom raised $168

My Project
Many of the preschool aged students with autism who receive speech therapy have emerging verbal skills. Often, they can not communicate their basic wants and needs, such as saying they are hungry or that they want a break. As speech-language pathologists, it is our job to help them communicate using alternative methods so that they have a voice in all situations.
An Amazon Fire Tablet will allow app-based communication systems to be used with all of the students so that they can communicate as soon as they enter our school.
The Amazon Fire Tablet will provide the opportunity to try different communication apps before determining which would be best suited for each student to have as their own individual communication device.
More than half of students from low‑income households
