Please join me in my effort of inspiring a love of speaking and listening in Spanish in my students. I am a high school Spanish teacher in a high needs New York City school.
I try my best to be creative and not teach out of our outdated textbook every single day, but limited school resources prevent me from doing this with ease.
I would love to be able to show pictures, movie clips, slide shows, articles, works of art, and pages from books on the overhead screen for all to see. Supplementing my lessons with authentic materials would really give my students something to talk about.
Having visuals for my students to see would enable them to not only better remember vocabulary by associating a picture with each word, but they would also be able to use picture prompts to create impromptu stories or dialogs. An LCD projector would help me be able to do this.
Your help will not only get my students speaking confidently in a second language but also help me realize my goals and give my students the enriching experience that they deserve.
