This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When you are thinking about the supplies that children need for school, usually the first things that come to mind are paper and pencil.

My children are fighters.

They fight every day for a chance to succeed in life. Some of them are the only English speakers in their families. Some have parents who may not read or write themselves. Some might not have food to eat, or a warm bed to sleep in. With that said, they are fighting every day to succeed, and I am their coach.

My Project

I am asking for pencil sharpeners. We are becoming exceptional authors, and we need the tools to continue to excel. The sharpener we have only works sometimes. It does not sharpen, which leaves me sharpening pencils during writing, instead of what should be doing; coaching writers. With these pencil sharpeners, I will be able to keep sharpened pencils around which will stop the unneeded noise and distraction during writing. It will also give me the opportunity to do what I should be doing during writing, and giving my children the tools to succeed.

This project is important because I need to have the tools to equip my children with the knowledge they need to lead successful, prosperous lives in their futures.

This will not only help the children in my class this year, but will help for years to come.
