My students need a document camera to assist them in their growth as budding writers. We will use this to help us see our writing as a class and improve upon it daily.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the best of the best. Every morning they come in eager to learn and excited to be part of a dynamic group. We are loving and accepting and secure in the knowledge that we build one another up not tear down. Our education is a group effort and that sets us apart from the rest!
I am privileged to work under the guidance of a phenomenal administration who supports their teachers as much as they do their parents and students.
It is because of this support that our parents, students and us, the teachers have such a positive relationship. Our student demographic consists of over 90% Hispanic students that are Spanish speaking students learning to speak English. We have a large population of ESE students as well. Parents are very involved seeing as most don't speak the language and want to make sure that they are supporting their babies. Our school is truly a magical place to be. We do have a large percent on free and reduced lunch, but we pull together with programs such as Donor's Choose and our PTO to make sure that our students don't go without the necessities. We are a family and we work hard everyday to support our students and their families.
My Project
It is my objective to use the document camera to display student writing. Instead of just having students share their writing verbally I will display their writing (without displaying the student's name) so that we can use what we know and what we have learned during our Writer's Workshop to show mastery of skills and lessons taught. Another important reason we need this resource is because we have an extremely important state test looming over us that is writing based. As a class we can share wonderful ways to make our peers writing better. We will also use it to display work in other subject areas. This resource will have many uses and will assist my visual learners while giving the students pride in their work being shared (depending on if they want their identity revealed). I am extremely excited and have high expectations for this device and all it will allow our class to do and learn.
