My Students
We implement rigorous lessons daily to ensure our students are getting what they need academically and emotionally. Often times there is a lack of parental support so our school is the home away from home for some of our kids. I do my best to provide a positive learning environment that allows all of my students to feel loved and appreciated when they enter each day. Providing resources to my students will undoubtedly promote growth academically and socially across genres. This class loves to read and I know connecting their passion for Reading to the history standards will make the reading more enjoyable.
My Project
As we embark upon another school year of uncertainty, one thing we can keep normal is reading aloud with students. Often times, we can feel disconnected with our students. Having a read aloud time each day causes us all to pause and come together as a class family with one common goal; to read!
The past year in education has been wild!
Why not read a book about a robot who finds itself in the wild? How does he handle the challenges and make the best of tough situations.
The novel, The Wild Robot, will no doubt allow students to make connections between the main character and themselves during these wild days of education.
More than half of students from low‑income households
