Traditional classroom settings often look like rows of desks and chairs. My multi-level classroom of fourth and fifth graders are constantly moving around. My students are loving, caring, and energetic individuals from a variety of backgrounds. However, when you have a classroom of 20 eager students that love to learn, you quickly adapt your surroundings to better serve them. My students are very active which in return means they need to be able to move all the time.
My students love to move around while they are working on assignments in our classroom.
My students have the freedom to do this but would greatly benefit from flexible seating options. I have fourth and fifth grade students that are full of wiggles. The students are eager to move and the flexible seating options will help them maintain their focus throughout the day.
My Project
The wobble chairs will benefit my students' learning by allowing them to move throughout the day while still working on their classwork. Children love to move around the classroom. These wobble chairs will allow them to move even if they are sitting at their desk. Not to mention, the students will be able to focus more on their work and less on the need to move because they will already be able to do this using the wobble chairs.
Movement is key to helping students remain focused and these wobble chairs will do exactly that.
Students will be able to get their wiggles out all throughout the day. As my students are moving, they will be able to focus their minds on the task at hand.
