My Students
My students are kindergartners in Carlsbad, California. We are a multicultural classroom with so much to share and learn from each other. In my kindergarten classroom, we will explore, inquire, communicate, collaborate, experiment, practice, create, and grow each day in an environment that is safe for all learners.
I am so proud to be a part of their foundation and help inspire these great little minds!
They are all so very excited to learn each day and give their best in our classroom community, as well as in the strong school-wide community we have built.
My Project
I am requesting books to explore diversity, emotions, character, and celebrate our differences. I hope to help the students explore their feelings, learn to recognize their own feelings, and talk about feelings. We will use the feelings chart to share how we are feeling on the chart in the classroom. We will use the bags and stampers to make a take-home bag relating to feelings and bring home our books for home.
I am also requesting emergent readers that can be sent home with each child for the week to practice reading skills and gain fluency, it is so important that all students have access to books at home!
The books will be returned each week. Reading is such a joy and in kindergarten, the students begin to feel that superpower of reading by themselves. I love being part of this big milestone!
