it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Almost every drama kid can remember the moment they realized they wanted to perform on a stage. For most of us, it was sitting in the audience of our first show. Maybe it was on a field trip to a local high school, maybe you were lucky enough to get tickets to a touring production, or maybe it was an outreach program that came to your elementary school.
We want to inspire that same kind of spark in elementary school students in our district, so that's why our Drama Department is going on tour!
The idea is simple: take a beloved children's book, a narrator, and some amazing student actors to provide early elementary-aged kids a story time they'll never forget! Ideally, we'll be able to coordinate this during Read Across America week to make the largest possible impact. This initiative will promote the arts AND literacy to Title I students, but we need your help to do it! With quality supplies and costumes, we'll be able to take this trip and perform for the elementary schoolers for years to come.
