My Project
I am excited to start up another school year. I want to start the year off with supplies that are going to enhance our learning. I find that taking the extra 10 to 15 minutes to breathe and stretch helps my students to focus. I would use the steel tongue drum to help create a calming classroom and to add to our yoga practice that we focus on daily.
I want to give my students the tools and organization that they are going to need to make their school year a memorable and successful one.
Using items like the professional Geometry Compasses will help students’ complete assignments with more accuracy. It would be nice for students to be able to create with a compass that do what they are supposed to do.
We are also changing our Language Arts curriculum this year and there are a few items that would help make the transition easier for the students, like the box of highlighters. This new program requires that all students have their own highlighters to use. The hanging file folders would help me to organize the program.
I teach the accelerated students and I am always looking for ways to challenge my students, especially in math. I thought that by purchasing the Fraction War cards, Math Mysteries and Do the Math, I can enrich the experiences that my students encounter in their learning.
Accelerated students sometimes struggle with concepts, so I also wanted to request the two sided place value white boards and the clock that helps teach students how to read time on a face clock.
