This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a NYC public school teacher working in Washington Heights, materials and school supplies are always needed. Many of our low income families are coming from difficult home environments. I want to create a classroom where students feel supported, safe and welcomed.
First, I would like to be able to create an inviting classroom for my students using beautiful borders and contact paper.
I am also asking for SPIRE magnetic boards to accommodate the high number of students that require intervention services. Returning back to school this past year, many students fell behind academically and require additional academic help. SPIRE is a wonderful intervention program to help struggling students. Erasable writing boards are also needed with the program to practice their sentence writing skills.
Teachers do their very best to make sure each student is provided with the resources they need to succeed and learn. Videos are used to accommodate all learning styles. I want to continue to use this resource and a USB converter will provide me with access to use all available technology.
Please help my students not have to worry about materials needed for this school year.
