Help me give my students the book A Long Walk to Water that will help them understand the challenges others face and how they can identify with those challenges.

My Students
My classroom is in a high poverty and high risk area. We struggle to provide everything that our students need. The students work very hard, and I feel that they deserve to have everything that they can to help them learn.
It is my goal and the goal of my school to prove to our students that they are worthy of everything that they need to learn.
It is my hope that through the donations given, my students will see that there are many people that care about their learning, not just the people around them. These children are the future, and they deserve every opportunity to be the very best that they can.
My Project
A class set of one book is helpful to encourage students to share ideas and experiences with their classmates. The book I have chosen, A Long Walk to Water, will be used to open students' minds to the differences and similarities there are between people of all back grounds.
This book will be used for analysis, decoding, and writing.
Through this learning student will form a sense of empathy for others. It is my goal for my students to share kindness and support to their classmates.
By doing this I will create a safe and nurturing learning environment.
