My Students

I am joining a brand new school district this year and am looking for materials to run my Kindergarten classroom. The students who attend my school are from a rural background with nearly 80% of our student body qualifying for free and reduced lunch. In kindergarten, this means that for many of my students, they have never had the benefit of preschool and their kindergarten year is the first formal educational setting that they have ever experienced. My Kindergarten students are so eager to learn, play, and grow and I cannot wait to be a part of that developmental process!!

My Project

The materials that I have selected will help begin our school year! We need fun and engaging Literacy center materials such as letter stamps and stamp pads to work on word families and sight words. Students love creating words in such a fun way!! We also need a paper organizer so the students can choose what type of paper they would like create their writing pieces on.

Markers and glue seem like an easy school supply to send in, but our students are very limited in their ability to donate to the classroom.

These materials are a necessity for making our writing center fun and engaging. I love to get my students' creative side going with hands-on materials!
