This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of the students in my classroom have difficulty with fine, gross, and visual motor skills. This portable indoor/ outdoor physical education center is the perfect opportunity for students to participate in adapted physical education rotations. The cart will help with transporting and storing adaptive equipment.
My students range from ages 3-5 and have been diagnosed with a plethora of physical disabilities that impact their fine motor skills and mobility.
They are very enthusiastic about learning and find pleasure in exploring new ideas and concepts. My school is located in a neighborhood where 95% of the resident's annual incomes are below poverty levels.
My Project
The portable indoor/outdoor cart will allow our classroom to transport playground equipment to our designated play area. The cart will help solve our issue of transporting adapted physical education equipment along with students across campus to our designated play area. We will also set up rotation centers using the lets get moving activity mats and make adaptations as needed to the exercises.
Students can skip, squat, bend and stretch their way to coordination and physical fitness.
The mats provide 15 illustrated activities that are perfect for indoor and outdoor exercise. I can't wait to see the expression on the students' faces when the cart arrives.
