This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing! The school we are at is a Title I school in Phoenix, Arizona. We have a fantastic administration, wonderful teammates, and the best students! My students are very hard workers and also know how to have fun. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I love seeing their faces every morning.
My students have a desire to learn.
They always want to know more, learn more, do more, and read more of everything. Our classroom is our own little family.
My Project
These books will be donated to our school library. Many of the books are quite old and some are even falling apart. We need to get some new books in there!
All of these books will provide new reading choices for over 800 students at our school!
Many of the students come in looking for these particular titles, and we don't have enough for all of them to check out. With the demographic of our school, we encourage reading a great deal! I would love to help students read what they love and create a foundational love of reading in them!
More than half of students from low‑income households
