My Students

I have a group of thirteen amazing three-year-old PreK students. We are located in a small rural district in northeastern Oklahoma. The majority of the schools in our district are Title I. Our community has a very high Native American population, as it is the home for nine Tribal Nations. Many of my students are experiencing being in a school setting for the first time. We are preparing them and building a foundation for them to continue to become successful scholars.

My Project

Because of the generous match donation of Microsoft, I will be able to receive a tablet that will also work as a laptop. Data collection is something that is boring, but is also a vital role in Early Interventions. I will not be stuck sitting at my desktop computer as I assess my students.

Another great feature of this tablet is that my students will be afforded with a wide array of learning opportunities through the integration of age-appropriate and interactive apps.

Students will have opportunities to showcase their learning digitally for parents to view and celebrate their successes as they achieve important milestones the whole year through. I am a firm believer in limiting screen time for little eyes, but we are old enough that a little bit weekly would be an effective tool to learn our letters.

I have also added a docking station so that I can connect to my smart board. We can work on spatial awareness and our crossing the midline. We will do this while we play letter and number games in the smart board.
