Curious, creative, determined, and engaged are just a few of the words that come to mind when I think about my students. Their enthusiasm for science is the source of my desire to deliver a top-notch science program.
We are a diverse school with students from all over the world and spanning all socio-economic groups.
This diversity pushes me to plan lessons that will give all my students the opportunity to be successful and follow their interests as they relate to the curriculum.
My Project
"The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Method is a technique that improves group problem-solving. By utilizing visual, auditory, and kinesthetic skills, the Method requires participants to learn and listen, and it provides all participants with a voice. The Method serves as a shared language regardless of culture or position." I am looking forward to next year and being once again in the classroom with my students. I am a trained facilitator in the Serious Play Method, so these kits will allow my students to have deep conversations about a plethora of topics.
Building and holding a physical object takes the pressure off having to talk about yourself and still allows students to talk about their ideas or feelings.
LEGO Serious Play is a well researched and respected methodology that deepens students' access to innovation, creativity, feelings, and more.
The students will be coming back with so many varied experiences, I want to facilitate Serious Play Sessions in my class to give all students a safe way to share. I can use this method in the class to get students to take risks in science and engineering tasks. I can use it as ice breakers in the beginning of the year. I can use this to solve community problems. The list of applications is endless.
Help me to provide my students with these LEGO Serious Play Kits so that I can offer an innovative way to support innovation, creativity, and problem-solving in the classroom.
