My Students
The students at our school are truly amazing. No matter the obstacles thrown their way, these children work hard to do wonderful things. They are dedicated, determined, witty, fantastic humans that truly bring life to my teaching days!
These children work hard to overcome everything thrown their way inside an outside of school and are inspirational in fighting to overcome the odds.
They are strong and have a resilience that is tough to match. Mostly, they are full of love. Each day starts new for them, and they are willing to share that love as often as they can.
My Project
This project is dear to me because so many students exhibiting behavioral and emotional needs can benefit from a sensory release. The Bouncyband Fidget Foot Roller would be fantastic for so many students because it could be used in any seating style and can move with students. This would allow them to fidget with their feet while still completing assignments and participating in class. The FootFidget 2.0 Adjustable Foot Rest would be perfect to add to desks for students to use in a similar fashion, bouncing their feet without disturbing others in the class.
The Abilitations Sensory Sequin Panel would be an amazing addition to our classroom calming corner by offering students a chance to draw things on the sequin panel and address their sensory needs at the same time.
Abilitations has amazing sensory outlets for students including the weighted Kordy Moose, Giraffe, and Elephant that are wonderful sensory tools for younger elementary students. These weighted animals are great to use as a classroom partner where students can maintain behaviors by making certain their animals are behaving appropriately too. All of these items would be outstanding additions to our classroom and extremely beneficial for students with sensory needs!
