Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a high poverty, low income area in New York. They work very hard and are deserving of the best materials and teaching instruction. Many students require motivation through the use of color and incentives. Help be a part of this excitement in our learning as we begin a new year!

My students are comprised of Hispanic and African American Cultures.

Students in my school are innovative and are interested in learning so many new things. Unfortunately, my school lacks resources and funds to provide students with all the necessary materials for learning. My school is located in an urban, low-income neighborhood.

My Project

Through the use of positive reinforcement, students will receive stickers and awards to motivate them. Incentives are a big deal in the second grade! Students will have choice when it comes to color with the many selections made including paper choice, markers and crayons for the entire class. The decor will help to create an inviting classroom where students will want to learn and the filing cabinet will help to keep both teachers in the classroom organized and ready to collaborate and share ideas together for a successful school year!

Donations to this project will help my classroom community by providing students with the necessary motivation for success.

Student confidence will increase and a love for learning will be accomplished. Help us to create an environment where students are able to learn in a meaningful way that will leave a strong impact on them and help to make my second grade class ready to learn and start the school year off right! Lets bring the fun back into teaching and learning!
