Every year it is the same, students walk in with no supplies to begin the school year with.
My students come from a disenfranchised area of New Jersey and many families find it difficult to afford the school supplies their child needs. There are families that do not have the luxury of going out to the store on the first day of school and buying all of the wonderful new things that they will need.
My students would greatly benefit from a good supply of pencils for the year. I have asked for the big pencils to begin the year with and the small ones to finish the year out strong. The crayons and markers are essential for any first grade student. The marble notebooks will be used to copy down homework every night. The folders will be laminated and used to transport their work to and from school. Pencil cases will be used to store all of their crayons, pencils, markers, etc. All of these things are important to my students' education.
My students will be able to succeed, not only in my class, but for years to come because of your donation. I will instill organization in my students to help further their education and you will play a critical role in that the learning of that skill.
