Help me give my students a one-year subscription to Fluency and Fitness to exercise their bodies and minds and a set of tempera paint to exercise their creativity.
I teach 16 happy, energetic kindergartners. They love to dance and sing. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and come with various degrees of skill-sets. I have special needs students, high ability students and everything in between! They don't seem to mind all of the differences and are the best of friends!
One thing for sure is all kindergartners need to move- a lot!
In Kindergarten, activities need to change every 15 minutes. My students need to wiggle, dance and sing in order to learn to the fullest extent.
My Project
I want to take that natural energy that my kindergartners have and put it to good use through a year long subscription to Fluency and Fitness. Students will be reviewing skills through their most natural way to learn- MOVING! Isn't that awesome?
Students are shown a slideshow featuring a certain skill, followed by exercise- What fun!
Students can follow the animated characters as they exercise. Skills such a sight words, letters, sounds will be practiced in a fun and engaging way.
In addition to the subscription, I am also requesting a set of tempera paint. With the push for academics, it is good to go back to basics and provide developmentally appropriate activities such as painting for my students, exercising their creativity as well!
