My students need playground equipment including a parachute, 14 playground balls of various sizes, a badminton set, a foam football to play with during PE time, recess and lunch.
Can you think back to elementary school and all the fun you had on the yard playing with friends, picking teams and working together? My students have a great playground yard but are just lacking great equipment to play with and learn new games from.
My students are fun, adventurous, and excited especially when it comes to recess and lunchtime.
Lately, however, they have been spending a lot of time in my classroom during this fun time in their day because they are bored and have nothing to do. They belong to a wonderful school community where encouragement and support is everywhere. They love to have fun and find enjoyment in the simplest pleasures. They need resources to help them work together when they are all together on the yard. They are also yearning for physical education equipment so they can learn the various games that they watch other kids play. I would like to give them access to the variety of sports there is out there to play in hopes that they continue and join teams in our neighborhood outside of school.
My Project
I am requesting playground and physical education equipment such as a parachute, playground balls, a badminton set, playground balls, a football, jump ropes, and a set of bases. This equipment will be used to teach my students the fundamentals of the games of basketball, football, and handball. These resources will also be used to teach the students the many different games they can play on a playground such as dodgeball, handball, kickball, jumprope and many others. I will be able to emphasize team building and cooperation as well as ensure that my students are getting enough physical activity to stay healthy. With the budget cuts in our district, I am the physical education teacher and I want to make sure that my students learn how to work together while having fun and getting exercise.
My students will learn how to work together and support one another through play.
They will learn many new skills and become more physically active. They will have equipment to play with on the yard during recess and lunch and will also, as upper graders, be given many opportunities to teach the younger students at our school. Please help them stay fit through fun!
