Let's Get Physical Outside While Working On Our Teamwork

Help me give my students tools to build their gross and fine motor skills during physical play along with building their social skills to share and work together with obstacle course materials, balls and sack bags.

My Students

My students are ready to learn and eager for what the day is to bring. Many of my students come from low-income families, and this is their first real experience at school. This is my first year teaching inclusion pre-k.

My kids start the year as eager, three to four-year-olds, ready to see what big school is all about.

The eighteen students in my pre-k class come from varying living circumstances, but they are all eager to learn. Many of these students are from single-parent households or living with other relatives. For many of them, they come to school not knowing how to write their name or even identify the letters in their name. Instead, they come with their desire to learn and ready hugs and smiles as they embrace school and learning.

This year may be different as we strive to maintain social distancing but they are in person and ready to learn. In many cases, these students don't know how to share or how to express the emotions they are feeling. Despite this, they are eager to learn, explore, experience, and discover the world.

My Project

We have a field next to our playground outside to play with during recess. Right now we have a variety of balls but they do deflate after time. The ball pump will help to make sure the balls stay useable without having to ask the gym teacher to do it for us.

The other toys are to help my students not only be physical but allow them to learn to play together with sack race bags, stretchy bands, ties to bind legs for three legged races and other toys that requires at least two students to play together nicely.

The doge balls are made of foam and would be the perfect material to allow students to play dogeball or other games that would also ensure they don't hurt each other. The hula hoops will help with developing core muscles.
