Help me give my students DecoBros Desk File Sorter Organizers and small clip boxes to organize each table group, portable activity tables to allow flexible seating, and two magnetic eraser cloths for use at each white board.
This is my fourth year teaching first grade after 12 years teaching 4th and 5th grade. I love how first graders are inquisitive and enthusiastic learners! Each day they come to school prepared to give 110%! Our classroom learning community values all diversity and celebrates each others' uniqueness.
Every child knows he/she is special and can explore their future career path in my classroom - the next great scientist, writer, engineer, or future entrepreneur's start might be right here in my classroom!
They are the future, so I hope to set them up for life long success!
My Project
My classroom has transitioned from traditional student desks to cooperative tables. These supplies will allow students to organize their composition books at each group, allow for flexible seating with the desk trays, and the binders will allow me to organize curriculum materials so they are ready to go.
In first grade, it can be be tricky to manage the students executive function skill of organization - this project helps tackle that!
Each table group will have a tray to organize each subject's composition books. Each table will also have a common box to store crayons. There will be three lap trays available in the room for students who need a quiet space to work (or would like to read/write in a comfortable spot in the classroom). Sometimes working in a group works well. Other times students would like a little space. Our desk trays will help accomplish that. Lastly, this project requests two magnetic dry erase clothes so that the eraser doesn't get lost at each white board.
