Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a special day class, which includes grades 6th through 8th. Although most of my students are eligible for special education on the autism spectrum, I also will be teaching students with multiple types of disabilities.

Due to the low demographics of my school, most students do not have access to the resources needed to purchase their own supplies and materials.

Special education students in a middle school often feel like every day brings a new challenge to overcome. By giving my students the resources they need for the school year, they will feel like their goals are more attainable and their success will soar.

My Project

It is so important for me to help keep my students organized. By having a mailbox system for each student it will not only help them stay organized, but give them the skills to organize themselves.

Student success is attainable with teacher and student collaboration.

By allowing each student to have their own supplies including their own whiteboard erasers and velcro for sensory needs- it will provide them with a sense of responsibility that can help them grow.

My students are always excited to get their work back with a nice comment or fun stamp. This encourages them to be proud of the work they are doing!
