My Students
I am a first through third grade teacher in a self-contained classroom at a public school that offers a Montessori and traditional education in an underserved, high needs community.
As a public Montessori school, we strive to create a community where social/emotional health, knowledge, and peace are a priority.
My students are thoughtful, creative, and curious children who need love, a healthy community, and proper learning resources to realize their full potential.
"There is no such thing as a child who hates to read; there are only children who have not found the right book." Frank Seratini
My Project
My students sit at tables so they each need an At-Your-Seat Storage Sack to store their belongings. The table top has enough room for a few of their things such as a small bin that holds their writing utensils and math materials. However, there is not enough room for their folders, notebooks and workbooks. The storage sack will make it possible for my students to make more room to work at their tables.
Since my students are still so young, the sacks will help them organize their things.
Being organized is a lifelong skill my students need.
