it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a special education teacher working in a first grade ICT classroom. As a teacher in a low-income district, my students face many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite all of these challenges, my students walk into school each morning eager and ready to learn. I'm looking to provide my students with meaningful and authentic learning experiences so that they are able to grow in all aspects of their lives.
My students are funny, creative, and love to move!
They thrive from being able to create and explore with hands-on materials. They want learn first grade "things" and are motivated to succeed just as much as I want them to!
In an ICT setting, we push for our students to thrive both academically and socially. We place a strong emphasis on building social skills, using kind words, having a caring heart, and working as a team! We are full of acceptance and learning to incorporate and appreciate each other's differences.
My Project
Our firsties have been using a paper mailbox all year, and to be honest, it has seen much better days. We are in need of something sturdier and longer lasting. A heavy-duty, wooden mailbox is just what we're looking for.
My first graders are constantly learning and practicing how to be responsible every day.
They use their mailboxes to store their completed classroom work as well as to collect their homework for the week. It has saved us time, clutter, and space!
We are also requesting a few clear storage bins. Again, this product is to help keep our classroom materials organized. My students need a clean, organized room in order to maintain structure and routine.
