Starting Third Grade is a big step. Helping students stay organized is one way to help them transition into the "big" kids' world.
I teach for a large urban school district in southeastern Michigan.
My school is a Title I school where over 98% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. All students at our school receive universal breakfast every morning. Our school is over 60% bilingual, including students who speak Arabic, Spanish ,and French.
My Project
My students need school binders and accessories to help them stay organized. Starting in Third Grade, students have to learn to become more independent and responsible for their education. Supplying them with a binder, set of dividers, pencil pouch, checking pencils, and a sharpener, will give them the necessary tools for organization as they start the new year. My students will use these supplies to keep up with their daily assignments for each subject area.
I will use these supplies to teach my students how to be organized.
Then, I can spend more time on teaching. With more time spent on teaching , my students will be able to get more content in every subject from reading to math and everything in between.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
