Even though my students attend school in a low income, high poverty school district, they don't let life get them down. The majority of my students come from broken homes; whereas, their parent(s) are in jail, they are being raised by grandparents, they are living in foster care or they are homeless.
My first graders are resilient!
No matter what life throws at them, they overcome it to become the best they can be. My students are very hard working and always striving to achieve their full potential inside and outside the classroom.
My Project
The use of workbooks will be a daily activity in my classroom since we just received a curriculum for the first time in many years. I'm so excited to get our year started but would love to help my students organize all of our new learning materials. The Flex-Space Storage Cabinet and Bins will allow my students an easy place to store and access their workbooks. Without proper storage, our workbooks may become torn or misplaced and not last the school year. Handing out each of our workbooks every day can be time-consuming, which takes away from learning. If my students have their own storage bin this can be done efficiently, as well as, teach the students responsibility and organizational skills. By having Flex-Space Storage Cabinet and Bins, my students will be able to learn organizational skills, avoid accidental destruction of their workbooks and focus on increasing their learning!
By donating to our project, you will be helping my students learn organizational skills, which in turn will increase student learning and overall academic success.
Students will be able to efficiently access all of their academic materials in one place, and not have to lose valuable learning time waiting for me to pass them out. Plus learning how to properly organize and care for things, will teach them an important life skill.
