This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
During the course of the school day, teachers use a wide variety of materials, often changing activities and materials frequently. During these transitions we loose a lot of valuable instructional time because students are searching for their materials. So lets get organized!
My students are first graders attending a school located in a low socioeconomic area in Los Angeles.
They are in a dual language class in which they are learning two languages at the same time. There are 9 boys and 10 girls between the ages of 6 and 7. My students are full of energy and are eager to learn new concepts every day. Because of economic hardship many of their parents have two jobs to be able to support their family, leaving no time to spend with their children and read .
My Project
With the storage seat pockets my students will be able to organize their materials and have access to the correct materials with a minimum of disruption. It is important to teach students early the importance of organization and make them responsible for as much of their organization as possible. I want my students to have a classroom where everything is arranged to promote efficient learning and minimize behavior problems. With your generous donations our classroom will allow for different types of learning activities with no wait time. These will also allow me to easily monitor students and provide feedback, maximizing their instructional time.
With your generous donations my students will be able to see and hear instruction and have efficient access to learning materials.
Making our classroom a positive and effective learning environment.
