My Students
I started my teaching career as a NYC Teaching Fellow just last year. I teach at a very large New York City public high school in Ozone Park, Queens. My students come from diverse backgrounds, and live in various parts of the city. At this point in the school year most of my students have switched to be fully remote, therefore they do not go into the school building. They are comprised of special and general education students, all with unique needs.
My Project
High school students are working on building all aspects of their life skills that will help make them successful when they graduate and enter college, and/or the working world.
Organization is a life skill that needs to continuously be worked on, in order for a student to be successful.
These materials will help my students build their organizational skills. A label maker will assist in differentiating binders, folders, and areas of the classroom. This will enable students to identify specific items for their intended use. Students will be able to quickly recognize where items should be placed.
