My Students

"Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up!" - A.A. Milne

I teach twenty students in a Title One school, which is also a Math and Science Magnet Academy.

We have a special group of kids here with a wide variety of needs to meet. They all have one thing in common-a love for learning! They are thinkers, communicators, good-listeners, smart, caring, and open-minded. It is amazing to watch these students walk into the classroom every morning with a smile and an eagerness to learn.

My Project

I teach my students from the beginning of the year how important it is to stay organized in order to help them succeed not only in school, but in life. These materials-book bins, supply caddies with lids, and paper trays, will be used to help us organize our books for Independent Reading, Guided Reading, center materials, and classroom materials (scissors, pencils, crayons, etc.). Students will have a specific place in the classroom to go in order to access materials on a daily basis. Next school year, we are piloting an inclusion program for self-contained students. It is very important that our rooms, materials, and activities stay organized and are easily accessible for both regular education and special needs students that will be in my class. These materials will be used during our Math and ELA center times to help differentiate and individualize instruction while the teacher is pulling small groups.

Donations to this project will help instructional and non-instructional activities run smoothly in our classroom so that we can use our valuable time on the most important thing-learning!
