This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us get organized! We have books in broken storage bins on the floor. We are looking for papers and wasting our learning time! We need organizational tools to help us make the most of our school day.
I teach at a large urban school in Southern California.
Most students come from low-income families and all students are given free breakfast and lunch. The majority of my class is made up of second language learners who need me to make the most of their educational day.
My Project
I have requested book organizers and organizational tools for my students to put their work. Organization is critical for teacher-student success. With a better organization system in place, I will be able to spend more time teaching and less time helping students look for lost items. It has been a challenge for them to keep their materials tidy because they do not have the appropriate materials to put finished and unfinished work.
These organizational materials will also assist us in our standards based small group instruction where we work in groups on a specific California State Standard. This time has demonstrated to be valuable, however it would be even more profitable with a specific place to put their work.
My students are eager to learn.
