This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A high percentage of young children today are not physically active. As a 4th grade teacher of students who come from low income families, I take the responsibility of addressing all of their needs seriously.
As a result, I am conscientious about scheduling physical education for 100 minutes each week. Because of recent state budget cuts here in California, it is difficult to replace and replenish equipment for the children to use during PE activities and during their free time.
When you donate this equipment to my class, you will be helping me to instill in these young people the importance and pleasure of exercise. In addition, I can help them learn good sportsmanship, teamwork, and tolerance for students of all physical abilities as we engage in sports and physical activities.
This equipment will enable me to unite the concepts of "active bodies" and "active minds" in the daily experiences I offer to my 4th graders.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
