This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten students rock! I teach 25 active 5 year olds at a Title 1 school,where over 95% of my students are on free or reduced lunch. Most of my students are immigrants. Their parents came to this country to give their children a better education and a chance to succeed in life.
Over 50% of my students have never been to school, had a story read to them, or colored a picture.
Since this is their first year in school ,I want it to be a year they will never forget!
My Project
My project consists of balls, jump ropes, scooter boards, bean bags and other physical education equipment.
Our school playground was closed down last year because it was not safe for the students.
So we would do an exercise routine and walk around the play ground for physical activity. But my students wanted more, they wanted to play basketball , soccer they wanted to jump rope but I did not have those supplies for them.
This year I want to make sure my students have the equipment they need to promote a healthy lifestyle for them .
If my project gets funded, my students will have the proper equipment for physical education!
