Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year we are studying art history in Gifted. Our students need aprons that they can use to cover their clothing on our weekly art projects. They also need a sharpener to replace the one that broke last year for all of their art supplies they will use every week.

Our students come from 4 different schools, all of the schools our Gifted center pulls from are title one schools and the budget keeps getting tighter and tighter each year.

That's why I create donor's choose projects on a yearly basis to continue to enrich, challenge and inspire these bright students.

My Project

These aprons will be decorated the first week of Gifted and used throughout the school year to cover the student's clothing as we get "messy" with art projects inspired by the famous historical artists we study. The pencil sharpener will replace the one we had that broke halfway through last school year and help keep the student's pencils and minds sharpened.

The aprons will be creatively designed and decorated by each student and used weekly to keep their clothing "mess free." Our Gifted students will be thrilled that they will each have their own apron to design and wear each week.

They will truly "look the part" as one of the many historical artists we are studying this year in Gifted. The pencil sharpener will be a blessing to them as most of last year they had to sharpen their pencils by hand.
