Our school has put on a school musical for the past 7 years and each year one of the critiques is that the audience wishes they could hear what their scholar thespians are saying or singing. We have purchased hand held microphones in the past using donated funds. However, we have not been able to use the two efficiently. Our current speakers are also unable to project the sound clearly to those sitting even as close as 4 rows away from the stage. The additional wireless microphones and the head sets will change this challenge drastically!
With head sets, microphones, and speakers to help project sound, our scholar thespians will be able to confidently perform to the entire audience!
The audience will be able to truly appreciate the hours of practice, memorization, and talent these students have by hearing the effort they put into providing a quality musical for their families, friends, community and peers! This equipment will also be used for school wide assemblies, visiting performers and theater companies, and family events. Our entire school community will benefit from this project being funded.
This project will increase our cast and crew's confidence, tap into their inner talent and creativity, and build a strong community of support for them. Our program also provides opportunities to try costume and set design, graphic design, and advertising- all in an effort to expand their experiences in career options. The program itself has also shown increased school attendance and improved reading fluency.
