Let’s get gaming with Speech and Language skill games!
Help me give my students fun speech and language games they can use for summer or use year around. These materials are electronic speech and language games geared to developing new skills they require to be effective communicators.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are taught Safety, Kindness, Responsibility and Respect as they are highly accepting of peers with Autism to create friendships due to the training and effort the teachers have put in to educate them about students with Autism.
Our school's students are highly diverse in their culture, socioeconomic background and needs.
I work with children from regular education first to fifth grade regular education and special education Autism specific classrooms.
Our community is accepting and invite to all students from all cultural and economic backgrounds. Children love to play and converse with peers about fun topics from Pokemon, soccer, books, movies and more. Students do not see disabilities rather they see friends to play with and talk to. Being supportive to children with special needs becomes a natural part of our student's day.
My Project
KIds love gaming. It is now how they socialize. Now I am moving toward following the trend of electronic games that target specific speech and language skills they need to become successful communicators. Help me help kids use correct grammar, social scripting, with vocabulary development and sound development in a way they love to play.
Play is key to learning speech and language skills quickly.
When kids have fun playing they internalize learning new language skills then when they are just doing repetitive practice. The games chosen will be individual games geared toward their interest and needed skill level.
