My Students
There is something special about the students in my school and in my classroom. These students are independent, protective, and eager. Students whom I spend time with day in and day out, come from very low-income families and from very diverse backgrounds. These students need the support and rapport from the individuals who interact with them daily within the school community. Based on the high needs of these students, each school day can be challenging but rewarding.
Each student in my classroom is very eager to learn and to grow; however, with the challenges they face outside of the classroom, they need extra support within the classroom.
My Project
Something that I implemented earlier in the year was flexible seating at the teacher table. Students are thoroughly enjoying using our flexible seating at the teacher that I see a must to implement flexible seating throughout the classroom. I am using this project to take the first steps to begin implementing flexible seating throughout my classroom. By implementing flexible seating I have seen more engagement in students especially when they are at the teacher table and our classroom environment has become less restricted when it comes to our learning. By implementing some flexible seating it has become a more comfortable area for learning and students have really excelled in their learning by the use of flexible seating.
