My Students

I teach second grade because they are young enough to love school, love being in my class, and old enough to do some things by themselves. The students enthusiasm inspires me to be the best teacher I can be.

If a flower does not bloom, you do not throw out the flower, you change the environment in which it grows.

This is why I have decided to make some changes and go to flexible seating. Studies have shown that children learn better in a flexible environment, rather than sitting at a desk for six hours a day.

My Project

For years I did not think I could go to flexible seating, but I have found some things that I can add to my classroom that will make it a flexible seating room that I can embrace. I am very excited about changing my room. My students will be all the better for it.

I am requesting a wedge table for up to 6 students per day to use as one of the flexible stations.

I have also asked for flex floor chairs for students to utilize every day. My hope is for my traditional classroom to be transformed into a modern day learning environment.
